I am an artist and engineer working between technology, design, and research.
A lifetime of rescuing litter has given me an abundance of materials, inspiring an improvisational art practice that is also an archaeological and spiritual study of modern waste.
With a background in journalism and cultural organizing, I approach each project as a rehearsal for regenerative and mythic ways of living.

BIRDCAGE

Brooklyn
2026

Created for NYC Resistor’s Annual Interactive Show, on the topic of Machine Yearning.
The bird in this case is a nude figure of clear glass, perched above an LED series that is connected to a distance sensor.  She is illuminated when you approach. An MP3 player (that was made from scratch!) connected to same sensor plays Schumann’s Prophet Bird, getting louder the closer you are to the bird. I am grateful for a 6-hour class on how to make your own MP3 player at NYC Resistor.

A two-hour workshop on solar circuits / solarpunk imagination for middle school students at the Woodrow Wilson International School.

These works were produced in Marseille and donated to La Kouzina de Noailles to support their Pro-Palestinian efforts.

LANA RIVER TRAIL

Tirana
2025

Three Albanian women went to Mount Dajti to find the source of the Tirana River, and for three days we followed the water toward the Adriatic Sea. After a 5-day pause due to rain, we reached the delta.

ROT INFINITY

Evia Island, Greece
2024

Rot Infinity is a sculptural trilogy installed along a hillside in Nea Styra during the LOOP-PROSPER residency in Greece. The title comes from the Albanian word for wheel – rrota, rrotë. I staged a physical journey through the landscape. The installation unfolds as a guided procession downhill.

HELIOSTAT

New York City
2020-2023

At New York University’s Interactive Telecommunications Program (ITP), I developed a Heliostat, or robotic mirror programmed to follow the sun's path and reflect its light into my apartment. This work cultivated a serious inquiry into reflection as both optical and social metaphor, and daylight as a collective resource. Constructing it required fabricating with salvaged steel and automotive parts using drills, Dremels, taps, grinders, and other precision and power tools. That project demanded patience, careful measurement, and respect for load-bearing structure and electrical systems.

MISCHIEF LAMP

2024

Found iron flower, wire baskets, crochet-metal bracelet, LEDs, Rechargeable battery

ROOMBA CATWALK

Brooklyn
2024

I was commissioned to imagine what a post-gender robot-mechanic might look like, on top of a Roomba, for the world’s first Robot Fashion show. The catwalk was presented at the Clive Davis Institute at New York University in May 2024.

FIRST APPEARANCE OF THE BRIDE

Miami
2021

A veiled photo of the Bride leaving home on the big day. Her quizzical expression is magnified, and the scene is strapped in mesh, bread clips, a rosary, as a smiling skeleton dangles, seeming to link arms with the bride.

STATUE OF LE BETTY
Liberty Enlightening the World

Saranda, Albania
2018

I am inspired by Betty Boop as a transnational icon. In NYC, she can be seen repping all nations and races. In my ancestral home in the “American” neighborhood of Saranda, Albania, I have reimagined her as the Statue of Liberty, inside of the fancy-occasion moonshine cabinet.

LEDA RESIDENCY

Saranda, Albania
2018

I organized a residency for five NYC-artists (myself included) in Saranda, Albania – a seaside town where my family has roots.

A BIGGER FILM FESTIVAL

New York
2017

I worked with Newest York to commision short films and sculptural experiments in moviemaking for a film festival in the Lower East side. I contributed two sculptural pieces and presented the projected works.

APOCALYPSE AS A RITE OF PASSAGE

Brooklyn
2022
